Four years ago, I started sketching ideas for a tarot deck that closely aligned with anything and everything NOLA. This city has a heartbeat unlike any other.
Each card became its own story! New Orleans archetypes meeting the old tarot symbols.
The Chemo Interruption and Renewal
Then came a season I didn’t choose. Cancer slowed everything, stripped things down to essentials.
The cards waited for me. When I had energy, I’d return to them. The project that began in joy became the thread that pulled me back to it.
Today, NOLA Tarot is finished. It holds everything I’ve learned: that humor and heartbreak can share a table, that art can keep you alive, and that the city still has more to say.
This deck belongs to anyone who’s ever looked for beauty in chaos or hope in the everyday.
